No, neither Russian nor European citizens need a visa to visit Georgia. Upon arrival to the Tbilisi airport, you will receive a stamp on your passport and that's it!
Georgia currently requires visitors to have valid health and accident insurance for the full length of their stay, so it’s best to arrange this before departure and keep proof in english handy when you travel.
We personally were never checked, but we’d still recommend having it with you, just in case.
Please confirm your attendance to one of us by March 1, 2027.
Yes, you will need a Georgian sim card once you land since it is outside the European Union. You can arrange for this in advance by getting an eSIM card before your travel. We recommend you use Silknet provider. On their website, it should take you only a few minutes to create an eSIM, all you need is a selfie, your document and below 10 EUR (depending on data package you want).
Worth noting: in case you use Revolut, their built-in function for eSIMs is very smooth.
Alternatively, you can purchase a SIM card at the airport or in the city center.
From Friday to Sunday, all guests stay at the wedding location - Chateau Mosmieri. The location is approx. 90 minutes by car from Tbilisi airport and is fully covered by us.
You can find more information about the venue and accomodation here.
On Friday, we'll arrange shuttles or taxis to pick you up, either from central Tbilisi or from Tbilisi Airport. As soon as you know your travel details, please share your flight information and pickup location, together with your estimated time of arrival, so that we can coordinate everything with care.
You find more information on how to get to the Chateau here.
We will cover all costs during the wedding, including accommodation, food, beverages, and transportation to and from the venue.
The only costs on your side are the flights to and from Georgia and the eSIM.
It is not necessary. Renting a car gives you the freedom to explore —but be prepared for some “creative” driving styles along the way. In particular for mountain areas like Kazbegi and others, a professional driver is recommended.
Our advice would be to rather use taxis (Bolt), private drivers, and day tours since they are easy to book and affordable. And for the main event, no need to worry - we’ll take care of transport to and from the wedding, as well as transfers back to the city and airport.
Georgia ranks 17th–20th globally for safety with a 92/100 score for crime control. It holds the 4th spot worldwide for lowest crime rate and is the safest city destination in Europe. The U.S. State Department gives Georgia a Level 1 Travel Advisory (“Exercise Normal Precautions”) — the safest category possible. Violent crime against tourists is exceptionally uncommon.
A gentle note: The only areas you cannot visit are South Ossetia and Abkhazia as entering them would effectively mean entering another country. These regions are simply not accessible for visitors and has been the case for 18 years.
